April in the Pacific Northwest has a reputation — grey skies, a little chill in the air, and the kind of weather that keeps you guessing. But Jake and Julia? They had other plans. Their wedding day showed up warm, golden, and absolutely stunning — like the weather itself wanted to celebrate with them.

Community Church and a vintage car:
The day began in the most charming way, a small, intimate church ceremony in Medical Lake. There’s something so special about a small church wedding. No distractions, no grand production, just the people who matter most. It was the kind of ceremony that fills the room with happy tears and big smiles from everyone. After it was over they jumped into an old white vintage car. I mean — come on. If that isn’t the most perfect, cinematic exit, I don’t know what is. The car was almost the star of the show!

Dancing the Night Away in Cheney
The reception brought everyone together in Cheney and the energy in that room was everything. Family and friends packed the dance floor and didn’t let up all night long. Grandma & Grandpa might have been some of the best dancers I’ve witnesses at a wedding. They took to the dance floor and flat-out outperformed everyone in the room — younger couples included. The kind of moment that makes everyone stop, pull out their phones, and just smile. That’s exactly the kind of real, unscripted joy that I live to photograph. No posing required — just pure love on display.

Sunset Photos
One of my favorite parts of most weddings days are sunset photos. It’s great after the ceremony and after the majority of the events to sneak away and capture just a few more shots of the newlyweds. We walked right across the road to a nearby park and wandered through the neighborhood. The light was incredible. Warm, soft, glowing, and absolutely a photographers dream. For April, it was borderline miraculous.

Those sunset portraits are the kind that stop you mid-scroll. Jake and Julia were relaxed, happy, and completely in the moment — which made my job the easiest thing in the world.

The Perfect Send-Off
They ended the night the way every great wedding should end — with a bouquet toss to whoever is brave enough to come forward and try to catch the bouquet. After that a quick send-off line and into the limo they go!
It was one of those days that reminds me exactly why I do this work.

Jake and Julia — thank you for letting me be a small part of your story. Watching your gallery come together has been such a joy. Here’s to a lifetime of dancing, vintage cars, and chasing sunsets together. 🤍
