When C told me spring was her favorite season and she was dreaming of wildflowers for their engagement photos, I immediately knew this session was going to be fun! I’ve taken photos at this location before and had guessed mid-may for flowers but while out walking my dogs one day, I noticed all the flowers had bloomed! I reached out to C about moving photos up because I didn’t want to miss out. Luckily, it worked for everyone and they were flexible.
We ended up moving their session to the beginning of May, and it couldn’t have worked out better! The wildflowers were absolutely stunning—fresh, vibrant, and covering the entire area. By the time our original date rolled around, the flowers had already begun to fade. That little adjustment made all the difference, and it gave us the magical spring backdrop C + B had hoped for.
Our second location was also stunning! The weather had been cloudy all day, but as golden hour approached, the sun peeked out—just in time! That golden showed up just enough through the clouds, casting the most romantic glow over the entire scene.
Even though they mentioned being nervous (which is completely normal!), these two were so effortlessly in love. The way they laughed together, held each other, and moved through the session made it so easy to guide them and capture their connection. Those final shots under the tree with the delicate white blossoms were probably some of my favorites! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, spring really is one of the best times for photos!
Engagement sessions like this one are a reminder of why I love what I do—capturing love in bloom, quite literally.
