There’s something magical about capturing the excitement and anticipation of new life. Many mothers skip maternity photos but I think it’s a moment worth capturing.

Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing the sweetest couple in Spokane, WA for their maternity session. From the very start, their vision was clear: skater vibes, Vans, and something that felt uniquely them. I absolutely love it when people come to me with a vision already.

With the city skyline in the distance and the sun dipping low, casting golden hues across the pavement, they laughed, skated, and embraced every moment. These two were adventurous, energetic, and just so full of life. Her best friend also came along, bringing props, hype, and heart. Remember your session is all about you! If you want to bring a friend to make it more fun or easier then I’m all for it!

These photos turned out beautifully—edgy, warm, and full of movement. A perfect reflection of their personalities and the season of life they’re in. I genuinely hope we get to reconnect for baby’s birthday in a year—because re-creating this session with a tiny Vans-wearing sidekick? Yes please!!
